My Son’s 15th Birthday

Seven Things Meme

I have not been tagged by anyone however, I noticed that many people are writing similar blogs. So, here are 7 facts you never knew about me:

1. I attended a NYC Junior High school which was secured by armed guards at the main entrance. It was a three story school and all other entrances and exits were chained locked during the school day. I am just grateful that the school never caught on fire while I was a student there.

2. During one of my childhood Halloween days, a teenager put a knief on my throat and demanded my Halloween goodies. I screamed and she took off running.

3. I used to get into trouble for daydreaming in class during my elementary school days.

4. When I was little, I enjoyed jumping out of second story windows, climbing tall fences and jumping from the roof-top of one brownstone building on to another one. My mother would have had a heart attack if she had seen me.

5. During the summer months of my childhood, I enjoyed:

a. Being out doors from sunup until midnight. I only went home for meals and to use the restroom.
b. Getting wet whenever someone illegally activated the local fire hydrants.
c. Informally dancing at street parties in NYC.

6. I grew up in the South Bronx, the arson capital of the world. Therefore, I have seen more fires then most firefighters.

7. Like Jennifer Lopez, I used to ride the number 6 train to my high school in another part of the Bronx. Unlike Jennifer Lopez, I am really from the block. She also grew up in the Bronx but attended private schools in Manhattan. Therefore, as far as I am concerned, she is not really from the block as her music album claims.

I now wish to tag my Twitter friends Pamela Gill and Eduardo Marcelo Peirano to write a similar blog.

My Favorite Inspirational Books

Here is a list of my favorite inspirational books. All of these books are about surviving terrible true lifetime periods, seeing better days in the end, becoming stronger human beings because of these terrible events and are very educational to read. I think about these true life stories when I am going through hard times in my life and find hope that my life events are temporary and I will see better days.

1. Manchild in the Promised Land by Claude Brown. This is a book I read as a child. Since I was also growing up in a similar ghetto environment as Claude and he became a successful lawyer, it inspired me to dream big like he did. I did pretty well as I am now a successful college professor these days.

2. Mayada, Daughter of Iraq by Jean Sasson. I recently read this one and I now appreciate this country so much more. Whenever I get stressed out these days, I think of what she went through and the many people in Iraq and all of a sudden my life looks and feels so much better.

3. A Child Called “It”: One Child’s Courage to Survive by Dave Pelzer. This one also gives me lots of hope when things are going wrong in my life. It also re-affirms that people can overcome terrible past life events, even abuse and still become productive members of society. He wrote this book to make people more aware of what the signs of child abuse are and where to get help.

4. Until Death Do Us Part: My Struggle to Reclaim Colombia by Ingrid Betancourt This was the most inspiring book I have ever read. Wow, Ingrid is a real life hero. This women did so much to make things better for her country and put this priority ahead of her marriage and children. She was close to winning a presidential election when she finished writing this book.

Epilogue:

After this book was published, Ingrid got abducted in real life on Feb. 23, 2002 by a political terrorist group in Columbia and still remains in captivity to this day. I think of her and the family she left behind every day.

Update:

Ingrid and 14 other hostages were rescued on July, 2nd, 2008. The Colombian military tricked the terrorist group into giving up the hostages and at the same time, took two terrorist camp leaders with them and turned them over to the Colombian police. I am just ecstatic about this!!

5. Stolen Lives: Twenty Years in a Desert Jail by Malika Oufkir . Malika was almost royalty but one day something went very wrong and her and her entire family were thrown into an old castle which was converted as a prison never to be seen or heard from again. Fortunately, a member of her family escapes and thus this book was written. Because of this book, a lot has changed as far as how Morroco now treats its criminals.

6. Escape from Slavery: The True Story of My Ten Years in Captivity and My Journey to Freedom in America by Francis Bok This is a very inspiring book about the atrocities that are happening to people in Sudan and the story of a person who escaped. Because of Francis Bok, the United States is now aware that slavery has never ended in that part of the world and is doing something to help.

7. Sickened : The Memoir of a Munchausen by Proxy Childhood by Julie Gregory, This story was so educational. It explains everything about this terrible mental disease and why it is so hard for doctors to notice when these cases are happening. Again, this is a story about a survivor that is now trying to change things for the better, trying to bring more awareness about this condition so that people can intervene and hopefully save more children from being victims of this syndrome.

Solving the Annoying Sparebackup Popup Problem

My son recently bought a new Gateway computer that unfortunately had Vista installed on it. I tried to upgrade his computer to Windows XP but there weren’t any XP drivers that worked with his new integrated Sound and Network cards. By the way, I am using the word, upgrade, here on purpose and it is not a typo. Laughing

He bought the computer from Circuit City and they preinstalled an online automated PC Data Storage software called,”Sparebackup”, found on this site: Sparebackup . You are probably wondering how I came to the conclusion that it was Circuit City and not Gateway which installed the software, well the following site hints that this may be the case: Tech Support Agreement site .

This software was configured to automatically start up during every boot. It would open up MS Explorer 7 once a day regardless of whether you were using it and display a popup advertisement reminding you that, “your Hard Drive will fail and urging you to use their service”. It did not matter that my son had the popup blocker activated, as it would bypass the blocker. I suggested that my son deactivate Java in his Windows Explorer 7 options and even this did not stop the problem. Needless to say, this was very annoying.

My son asked me for help. Usually, the first thing I do before offering anyone help is to Google the problem. This is how I came up with the possible Java solution which unfortunately did not work. However, the following sites looked promising:

Sparebackup Online Storage Site

GateWay Computer Support

Computer Help Forum

All three sites gave exactly the same solution however what they failed to mention is that you cannot uninstall a program that is running and this specific software is pre-configured to not let you quit the program. When you followed the instructions on the first and second site, a Windows message would appear informing you of this and stated that the programs will automatically be terminated by Windows. However, apparently this software was written to also bypass this Window’s feature.

I would then try to manually quit the program by right clicking on it from the Windows Vista Taskbar and left clicking on the EXIT button that appeared but it would not stop running. Here is a picture of the Window’s Vista Taskbar:

So after a few tries at uninstalling the program using the instructions provided and failing to achieve my goal, I decided to take a new approach.

I started the computer in safe mode and followed the instructions which again did not work. I then remembered my old friend, “MSCONFIG”, from Windows XP. I did not know whether it was still available in Windows Vista so I tested my idea by using the run command and typing in the program name. To my surprise, the program is still there and came right up. This is a picture of what it looks like:

I clicked on the STARTUP tab and found that this program was listed. I clicked on the little square to the left of it to get rid of the check mark and then clicked on the APPLY and OK buttons. Next I re-started the computer. I was now able to follow the instructions on how to remove it shown on the first and second site listed above. The problem is now resolved.

Another possible solution to end this program that I did not try was pressing the CTRL + ALT + DEL key combination which would bring up this dialog box:

Now click on,”START TASK MANAGER”, it will appear and looks like this

You would then click on the PROCESSES tab and find the name of the process you want to terminate. Select it and click on the END PROCESS button on the bottom of this window.

As I previously stated, I did not try this solution. This is because a lot of times, the name of the process does not match the name of the program that you are trying to terminate. Hence, if the name is different, you would not know which process to terminate. Also, sometimes there is more then one process that the program is running and if you do not terminate all of them, the program may still run.

I really hope this helps someone. Shame of these sites for not informing people how to properly uninstall this program. Shame also on the Sparebackup company for employing coercive marketing techniques.

My Special Thanksgiving Story

I got married 23 years ago to a wonderful man who is still my husband. We have two great sons and I have spent every Thanksgiving weekend with him since then. Some years, we also had our special dinner at his mother’s home who lives just 2 hours away from our home.

For most of our married life we have had a heavy financial burden which most people refer to as a mortgage. Therefore, I was never able to travel to spend this holiday with my side of the family whom live in another state.

Likewise, most of the people on my side of the family also had big mortgages and were not able to visit me. My mother’s only income is Social Security. Therefore, the last time I saw my mother and sister was 5 years ago. I had also not seen my other sister for 10 years. Recently, this situation has changed as my husband and I finally paid off our mortgage debt.

So, this year, I woke up on Sunday the week before Thanksgiving and decided that it was time for a visit. I got on the Web to make my flight arrangements. I called my niece, whom recently moved back to the town where my mother and sisters live and asked her if she had room for one more person for Thanksgiving.

She asked me why and told me she was expected at my mother’s home for dinner at 2:00 PM. I told her that her schedule was perfect since my flight would arrive at 1:00 PM. She was very excited to hear the news and immediately offered her home as a place to stay. I quickly accepted and asked her not to reveal my plans as I wanted to be a surprise guest. She promised to keep my secret and to pick me up at the airport. So far, everything seemed to be going great and I felt so happy.

After I got off the phone, I started to tell my husband all about my new Thanksgiving plans. He was very shocked at first but finally stated that it was a great idea. He said that he would manage just fine along with my sons and that they would go to a cafeteria to eat dinner. Needless to say I felt very guilty at first but finally concluded that I deserved to spend this day with my mother and sisters for the first time in 23 years.

The day finally arrived. I got on two flights which went very smoothly and got there on time as scheduled. My niece picked me up at the airport and we went directly to my mother’s home. I had butterflies in my stomach and was kind of worried that my mom would have a heart attack upon seeing me since she is eighty plus years old.

When we got to the house, my niece told me that everything looked perfect as she noticed that both of my sister’s cars were in the driveway. She said for me to follow her so I could nonchalantly walk into the home right after her. I did exactly that. My niece had a key to my mother’s home so she knocked on the door and quickly let herself and her family in. I casually walked in right after them.

The first person to see me was my middle sister whom I last saw five years ago. She gasped as soon as she recognized me and then said,”oh my God”. This reaction then caused my youngest sister who I last saw 10 years ago, to check out what the fuss was about. She also had the same response.

My mother then walked into the room to find out what the commotion was about and suddenly noticed me. She started screaming with joy and had tears in her eyes. Wow, what an incredible moment this was in my life. Everyone was hugging and kissing me. The feeling I had was just wonderful and I truly felt blessed. It was just so great to see my family members again. My mom said, “it was the nicest Thanksgiving present she could ever get”.

I stayed in town until Sunday morning and then flew back to Fl. I had the most amazing time and I can hardly wait to do this again. Now that I no longer have a financial related excuse, I will be doing this more often. As a popular TV commercial implies, family memories are just priceless, for everything else there is MasterCard. Here are some pictures:

Epilogue:

Concerning the possibility of my mom having a heart attack, my nephew in law told me an amusing story. He related that when he first moved back into town, which was pretty recent, my mom invited him and his family to her house. She then picked up a Tae Bo exercise tape and asked my niece and nephew to participate with her in her exercise routine.

Thinking that my mom would only do ten minutes of the tape, my nephew in law and niece agreed to join in. Well, my niece was the first one to quit after only 20 minutes, my nephew in law was the next one to quit. To everyone’s shock and amazement, my mom completed the whole exercise routine. So, I guess I should not have worried and I am so happy to know that my mom is so physically fit.

St Augustine Lighthouse Investigation

St Augustine Lighthouse Investigation
Jan. 6th, 2008
I just returned from a amazing trip to investigate the lighthouse in St. Augustine, Fl. The organizer of the trip was none other then Todd Sheets, founder of the ever growing and popular virtual online investigation group called, “The Nightwatchers”. Check them out if you are not familiar with them. Just click here to go to their site: Nightwatchers

By the way, the Ghosthunters just returned last week from a second trip to this lighthouse and there is a rumor that they will discuss this topic on their new show that premiers this coming Wednesday. The new show is on the Sci-fi channel and it is called”Ghost Hunters International’. The time will be 9 PM EST and 8:00 Central time. So watch the show to find out the scoop. Here is the link to the show if you would like to know more: GhostHunters Show

Well, we started out Saturday by meeting for dinner at Scarlett O’Hara Restaurant in downtown St. Augustine. The dinner was just delicious and it was so wonderful meeting friends in person that I have only known on-line for a few years. It was also great re-connecting with on-line friends with whom I have previously attended other Ghost Hunting trips and events. Some of these people have remarkably become my closest friends.

We then arrived at the lighthouse entrance. I was so impressed with Tod’s organized and professional manner in handling this event. He took attendance and gave everyone on the registration list a sticker to wear on their clothing. I thought it was a great idea and a wonderful way to control non-registered members of the general public from joining in with our hunt.

He then divided us into two teams and named two team leaders. I felt privileged to be on Psychic Serenity Moore’s team. One team would investigate the lighthouse first while the other team investigated the Light-keeper’s home and ground area. After three hours the teams would switch.

While we were investigating the grounds, Serenity got a psychic message that someone named Steven used to work the grounds a long time ago. She decided to ask one of the staff available that night about this and found out that there really was man named Steve that worked there a long time ago. I thought it was so exciting to see her message validated as a historical fact by the lighthouse current employees.

I then went to the second floor of the light-keeper’s home. I took a few pictures but mostly, Lorrie from the Ghost Chicks and I worked with a AM/FM radio from Radio Shack that had been converted to work like Frank’s Box. If you are not familiar with this concept, check out this website here for an introduction: Frank’s Box

The method to convert the radio involved opening it up and cutting a wire. Lorrie and her partner, Tara completed this task during their road trip to Florida. The conversion seem to work while they were on the road as the radio did not pick up any radio stations when set to the scan setting.

However once we tried it in the lighthouse home, it did pick up bits and pieces of a few stations here and there while it was in scan mode. In any case, we did hear a few a voices. One said, what the —-? in response to one of our questions. I forget what the question was. Whether it was a radio show host or spirit remains a mystery at this point.

I then suggested to Lorrie that maybe the wires should have been cut and then tied. Also, that perhaps, the wires met and that was why the radio still picked up bits and pieces of the radio stations.

I made an analogy to tubal ligation surgeries that are done on females. In the old days, the tubes were just cut and unfortunately, sometimes the tubes touched and the procedure failed. Later on, they revised the procedure so that the tubes were cut first and then tied. This was proven a lot more effective. She thought, I had a good point and intends to work on the radio some more. Hopefully, it will work better on our next Ghost Hunting trip.

I spent the rest of the time during the first half of the investigation taking pictures of the lighthouse grounds and lighthouse home. I got a few pictures with orbs that may well be dust particles. I have posted them in an album called, “The St. Augustine Lighthouse”, in my picture section on this site.

I also spent a little time sitting on a bench outside the entrance to the lighthouse. While I was sitting there talking to other people on my team, I kept seeing a cat walk across the same bush over and over again. A couple people noticed that I kept looking at the same area, they also looked towards the same place however they did not see anything.

Maybe I was seeing an imprinted haunting. This is a special type of haunting where the event occurs over and over again. By the way, there is an actual black and white lighthouse cat that currently lives on the lighthouse grounds named Lucy. However, this was not the cat that I kept seeing.

Finally, the time came to rotate the two teams and I got to enter the lighthouse building itself. I entered and carefully took many pictures of the never ending spiral staircase. I thought it would never end. It was a real aerobic workout getting all the way to the top of the lighthouse. The view from the observation deck at the top was however, breathtaking!!

In a few pictures, I got a mystery mist. When I looked at it on my small camera screen, the mist looked like an apparition. I got excited because Paula from Parahub radio was also taking a picture of the same area and also got a similar mystery white mist.

However, after looking at my pictures at home and uploading them. I think the mist that appeared in most of my pictures may have been a reflection of my camera lens as I took these pictures in the dome area of the tower.

In contrast, Paula’s mist was looks like an apparition in nature as her mist is underneath one of the sides of a spiral staircase. In any case, the real source might just remain a mystery. In other pictures, I got orbs but these may be also just pictures of dust particles.

In all, it was a great trip and I encourage people to go to this lighthouse if you get an opportunity. Whether you experience any paranormal activity or not, I think it is worth the trip. It is a historical site and has a very haunted past. For more information about the history of the hauntings, check out this site:About St. Augustine’s lighthouse ghosts.

Clairaudience, Sleep Paralysis or a combination of both?

Clairaudience, Sleep Paralysis or a combination of both?
Nov. 28,2007
This is a story about a Paranormal event that I experienced when I was just 15 years old. At the time, my family and I had just moved into a new home. The movers had not yet finished delivering our furniture. Therefore, for the first month, my entire family and I slept in the same bedroom.

One time during this month, I suddenly awoke from a dead sleep, sat straight up in my bed, wanted to scream so badly but I could not. The reason I wanted to scream is because I was hearing things that were really scaring me.

I heard a lot of noise. The noise seemed to be coming from my living room. I heard people running back and forth, heard people giving other people orders on what to do but I could not make out what was being said. It seemed to be the kind of noise you were hear in a hospital emergency room.

At this point, I thought people had broken into my home and I was just scared out of my mind. I also could not understand why everyone else in my family which were all asleep in the same bedroom did not seem to hear anything and were all sound asleep.

After the noise quieted down, I was finally able to scream and started to cry hysterically. My parents immediately woke up and tried to comfort and calm me down. They told me the noise I heard was just a dream and to try to get back to sleep. My father however did check out the entire home and assured me that no one had broken into our house.

However, the next day, my family got two different phone calls. The first phone call informed us that a family member from my father’s side died in a hospital emergency room, several states away, during the night. No one in my family even knew that one of our family members was even sick. The second phone call informed us that another family member on my mother’s side also died in his sleep during the same night.

So what do you all think? Was this Sleep Paralysis, Clairaudience or a combination of the two?

Hearing a Phone Conversation 5 hours before it Occurs

Hearing a Phone Conversation 5 hours before it Occurs
Nov. 22, 2007

It has been almost been a year now since my nephew and his girlfriend died of a drug overdose and were found dead in the bed of her dorm room at a State University in Florida. It was on a Sunday at around 8:00 PM when we got the news.

Here is an article if you would like to read about this story:

Article about the incident

Here is a link to my nephew’s MYSPACE page where his friends are still leaving grief related messages :

Ricky’s MYSPACE PROFILE

Here is a link to his girlfriend’s MYSPACE page:

Nikki’s MYSPACE Profile

I am sure some of you may remember me sending out a bulletin shortly thereafter. In the bulletin, I warned all of you of the dangers of drugs. I also asked all of you to you to stop if you were taking illegal drugs as I did not want to lose anyone else in my life due to a drug overdose.

Even though we did not get the official news that day until 8:00 PM, I was at my computer in my bedroom that day at around 3:00 PM. The rest of my family was in the living room. I heard one of our three phones ring. I did not get up to answer as I noticed that it stopped ringing and it seemed like my husband answered it.

I heard him talk to what it seemed to me to be, his mom. I heard him say out-loud, “What??? What about little Ricky?”. Ricky is our nephew and they call him little Ricky because his dad, my husband’s brother, has the same name and my family like to call him, big Ricky.

I heard bits and piece of the rest of the conversation but could not make out what was said next. I meant to ask my husband for the rest of the afternoon, what his mom told him about little Ricky.

I, however, kept getting distracted with other weekend activities and kept forgetting to ask him. I now really wish that I had. This is because he is a skeptic of all Paranormal events and this would have shook him up because of what happened when we got the actual phone call at 8:00 PM that night.

So that night at about 8:00 PM, I was again on my computer and again heard one of our three phones ring. Again, it sounded like my husband was talking to his mom. Again, he said the same words aloud.

This time, I came running out of the room to see what the story was. Having my husband say the same words twice in one day made me feel that the news was not ordinary.

My husband was holding the phone, still talking with his mom and had a look of shock on his face. I whispered to him, “what is it about little Ricky?”. He whispered back while still trying to listen to his mom which was hysterical, “he passed away today “. I asked him to repeat it, not wanting to believe what I was hearing. He repeated the same thing again. I immediately started to cry and now I was also hysterical.

After the phone call and I had calmed down a bit. I asked my husband whether his mom has called earlier and told him something else about little Ricky? He asked me why?

I told him about hearing the phone ring earlier around 3:00 PM, hearing him answer the phone and hearing him say the same words aloud that he said when the actual phone call came in.

He said that the phone never rang earlier and this was the first time he had spoken to his mom today. Personally, I was stunned because I had never had an experience like this happen to me before. He just said, he thought that was interesting but I could tell that he thought it was not possible for this to have happened.

So, my questions are, is there any specific name for this kind of psychic occurrence? I have researched many Paranormal and Psychic web-sites since then and I have not found anything that fits my case exactly. Could this be a  clairaudiance,  premonition, precognition or an experience that is a combination of some of these? Also, has anyone here experienced something like this before?

Bardstown Ghost Hunting Trip Part 3

Bardstown Ghost Hunting Trip Part 3
10-23-2007

To quickly review, when I finished part 2 of the Bardstown’s blog, we had just been notified that people which were viewing the live web cast had heard a woman screaming and I had noted that no one else was in the building.

At this point I decided to go to another part of the inn to investigate some other areas. I did not witness any other paranormal events. However, the people that stayed in the first room I had just left, reported what happened next.

They said that Patti Starr had called out to Jessie Jame’s spirit and asked him to make himself known by opening the door that I described in part 2 of my blog. To everyone’s surprise, the door did open and there was no one to be seen anywhere near the door. I am kind of sorry I left and missed this event which seemed to be the highlight of the investigation and the live web cast. I must note that the rest of the trip was not web cast live. Only the main investigation at the Talbott Tavern was.

The next day, our group went Ghost hunting to a small museum and a restaurant in the area. We got a few EVP’s. That night, I was so tired that I went to sleep early. However, a lot of the people in my group decided to stay up till 4:00 AM in the morning to Ghost Hunt in the Tavern we were staying in. In the morning, they reported seeing a shadow ghost peering around the corner near the room I was staying in of all places. For those of you not familiar with Shadow Ghosts, here are two web sites that explain what they are:

Shadow Ghosts 1

Shadow Ghosts 2

The last night we were there, we again went Ghost Hunting at an opera house in town. We again got a few EVP’s. There was several interpretations of what one EVP said. We all listened to it. This spirit seemed to have an attitude. Some people thought, it said, “Help, stupid bitch”. Others thought it said, “Help Bitch”. In any case, this spirit did seem to be lacking in manners. 🙂

Later on, I went to the room where some of the girls in my group were staying. I was sitting in a nice comfortable chair in the room and telling them about my experience with my wedding rings that I described in the first part of this blog. Two other girls were laying down on a bed near me listening to my story. I just got through telling them that I thought the spirit was a woman.

Susan Rushing, one of the hosts of the live web cast during the first night and who is also a psychic, said that she thought it really was a woman because woman’s wedding rings were topics that ladies liked to discuss.. She then asked me if I had just kicked her bed. I told her I had not and remarked that I was sitting way to far from the bed to even reach the bed with my feet. She then sat upright and noticed I was right. I then stated that the kicking could have been the spirit validating my story and our conclusion. She then said she felt another kick. I said, “See, I think I am right”

She then stated that she felt that the woman spirit had a guitar shape type of figure. As soon as she finished saying that, she felt someone hit her butt and said, “ouch”. I started to laugh and told her that it was apparent that the spirit did not like the remark about her body type.

Well, these are the details of the entire trip in a nutshell. In all, it was the most fun I have had in a very long time. By the way, if you have not heard of the other hosts of our live web cast, Bob Hunnicutt and Jason Lewis, hanging out with them is like watching the comedy channel live. I really enjoyed being with them so much and don’t think I have ever laughed so much in three days.

I must also mention how much fun it was to hang out with the other two web cast hosts, Lorrie Jones and Tara Deters. collectively known as the Ghost Chicks. They are such sweet hospital southern ladies.

As a matter of fact, everyone in our group had so much fun that we decided to make GhostHunting in Bardstown an annual event. I am already looking forward to doing this again. Hope you enjoyed hearing about my adventure.

Bardstown Ghost Hunting Trip: Part 2

Bardstown Ghost Hunting Trip: Part 2
Jul 27. 2007

The next day everyone slowly arrived from all over the US. The event was attended by about 17 people. I had a great time seeing some of my Myspace friends that I had already met on other occasions and meeting some Myspace friends for the first time.

Everyone was so excited to be in Bardstown and were looking forward to the main event of the trip. This would happen on Tuesday, July 17th in which our group would investigate the Talbott Tavern. The event was webcast live on the Internet by this site: Paranormal Underworld Here is the banner announcing the event:

Well the investigation started promptly at 7:00 PM. The event took place in the meeting room of the tavern on the second floor. The main host of this event,” Patti Starr”, started out by telling everyone that the tavern is haunted by the Ghost of Jessie James and the spirit of a little girl.

Patti used to be the manager of the Talbott tavern in her single days. Here is a newspaper article about her early days as manager of this tavern. Newspaper Article In this newspaper article, it states that Patti captured an EVP of a women welcoming people to the tavern and she believes it was the voice of Ms. Talbott. For those of you who are not familiar with EVP’s, it stands for Electronic Voice Phenomenon. Evp’s are based on the belief that tape recorders capture voices of spirits that are normally not heard by human ears. Other web pages have stories that will back up the allegation that this tavern is haunted by the late Ms.Talbott which is always seen wearing a white dress. Check out the third story on this site: Ghost Story

Patti then talked about one of the doors of the room we were in. It was a door that was really hard for people to open without pulling on it extra hard. I even tested the door to see if she was right. Normally I am extra strong because I lift weights as part of my fitness routine. I had a real hard time opening this door. She said that she has had other Ghost investigations in the same room in which the door had opened by itself after mentioning Jessie Jackson’s name. She then talked about the two sets of chandeliers in the room. She explained that during other ghost investigations in the same room, the lights have gotten dimmer and had even been turned off upon requesting that the spirits do this.

Patti then also showed everyone a box of crayons that she brought with her and set the crayons out in a playful pattern on one of the tables. She also put the crayon box in a upright position on the table. She said, she hoped that would entice the spirit of the little girl to come out and play with us.

She then started to ask the little girl to reveal herself and play with the crayons. We all waited breathlessly with the cameras going. After a little while, to our surprise and disbelief, the crayon boxed moved back and forth. Susan Rushing, which was also a host of the show, spoke very kindly to the girl’s spirit. She thanked her for revealing herself and coming out to play with us. I thought she did a great job as I myself would not have had the slightest clue on how to respond to this event. Patti then asked the little girl to dim the chandelier lights. To our surprise, the lights got dimmer. She then asked the spirit to make them normal and the lights got back to normal. The little girl delighted everyone by doing this several more times. She also moved the crayon box a few more times for us.

All of a sudden, one of the people that were handling the equipment for the live web cast came into the room. The webcast also included a feature where people whom were viewing the investigation from their homes could capture EVP’s and chat inside a chat room in real time. The person wanted to know whether a person has been screaming in the room we were in? We told her, that no one was screaming. The person informed us that the people in the chat room were reporting that they heard a woman screaming. I should note that no one else was in the hotel during this investigation.
